Challenges of a new day, a new season, and a new life

Life is crazy, no matter what. Something if not everything can put us into a position of uncertainty. We can feel frozen and locked within ourselves because of this uncertainty.  Uncertainty distributes doubt, skepticism, suspicion, mistrust, and lack of sureness about someone or something. Uncertainty is when we use imperfect or unknown information that we use in applying to the situation at hand.

A new day, a new season, and a new life. If everything is new, how do I live? I guess most of us are locked into uncertainty because everything is unknown. There are absolutes like the sunrise but after I choose to arise, I need to start making choices. A lot of choices that I make or have made end up not giving me the results that I planned on, expected, or even wanted. I guess that life must be based on the unknown (I’m uncertain).

Enterprise Community Congregational Church is made up of people of our community just like you. We can definitely relate to the feelings of uncertainty. At those times of no control or stability, through God’s grace each of us can be refreshed, renewed, and revigorated. This applies to every day, season, and life. The Bible, which is another absolute, says in Romans 8:38-39 (ESV), “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

As ECCC’s pastor, I need to remind myself and every one of you. Because life is uncertain, the challenges of a new day, a new season, and a new life, are still uncertain. The unknown results that we didn’t plan on, expect, or even want can trap us in a crazy life of uncertainty. A verse I use that helps in stabilizing us at these times is Jeremiah 29:11(NIV).For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” What I love about that verse is it was given to Israel and Judah. They had turned their backs on God because they thought they had all the answers. They couldn’t find peace, happiness, or freedom.

Because it says in Hebrews 13 :8 (ESV), “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”, please come and join us. We all carry similar uncertainties but with God’s grace He carries us through…
