LIVING LIFE IN RECOVERY
I lived a lot of my life from the other side of the track by choice. Searching for the fullness of life took me down many trails, but I couldn’t find what I was looking for and I discovered that the problem in my search was me. My pride, ego, and dependence on self, regardless of advice or mandates just didn’t work.
We all get to deal with life, no matter who you are or where you are from. Challenges and change are in everything. That is a fact that never will change for any of us.
I became the Pastor for Enterprise Community Congregational Church a little more than a year ago. The first service in introducing myself and sharing who I am in January of 2023, I let the congregation know that I am an alcoholic in recovery. Though I now have more than 20 years of sobriety, I will never be free of my physical addiction. Recovery will always be part of who I am and a very important part of who I am.
Shortly after joining the church in May of 2023, I was allowed and encouraged to open our church doors for open meetings in recovery. We do have several attendees and want to make sure that everyone knows that you are always welcome.
